The
Advisor's
Circle
The
fraternity of today faces unique challenges. What was
once considered "harmless fun" is now seen
as a basis for legal action. Fraternity membership is
being called into question as to the benefit of such
association.
The
Advisor's Circle was established in 1999 to assist in
strengthening the character of fraternities at Texas
Tech University and to work cooperatively with our
Chapters in the goals of academic excellence and
social involvement. Our Circle membership is drawn
from chapter and faculty advisors, house corporation
officers, and other committed alumni.
Running
a fraternity chapter requires business experience and
our advisor's offer a wide knowledge base which helps
our young men develop organizational and financial
skills. The Circle provides help in accounting matters
and event management.
Working
cooperatively with the university leadership and
Inter-fraternity Council our group serves as a source
of information about resources and responsibilities.
We provide assistance to the Dean of Student's office
and individual chapters when concerns are raised. The
Circle is committed to maintaining the highest
standards of membership and believes that good
communication can be critical to the relationship
between students and the school.
Members
of the Advisor's Circle serve without compensation and
meet throughout the year. Visit our Circle Directory
for a listing of our members.
